Cookie Notice

The Cookie Notice tool for Divi Plus displays an elegant, customizable consent banner at the top or bottom of the screen to notify visitors about cookie usage and gather GDPR-compliant consent.

How to enable cookie notice

To enable and configure the Cookie Notice on your website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Divi Plus Options.
  3. Select the Tools tab and choose the Cookie Notice menu.
  4. Toggle the Enable Cookie Notice switch to ON and configure your text details.

Tool settings

Enable cookie notice

Turn the notice banner display on or off globally. When enabled, a responsive banner will slide in for first-time visitors.

Choose where to position the banner on the screen. Select either Top (fixed at the top of the viewport) or Bottom(fixed at the bottom of the screen).

Content and text

Customize the banner title, description message text (you can include HTML links), and the Accept Button label.

Input the custom text and link URL (e.g., /privacy-policy) for a “Learn More” link. This will display alongside the Accept button.

Define how many days the visitor’s consent cookie should remain active in their browser before the banner is shown to them again.

Design and styling options

  • Banner background: Configure the background color of the cookie notice box.
  • Typography: Set colors for the title and message body text.
  • Accept button: Fully customize the Accept button background, text color, and hover states.

Pro Tip: Style the banner background in a clean neutral color (like dark grey or white) and make the “Accept” button highlight in your primary brand color to increase clicks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Cookie Notice GDPR compliant?

Yes. It displays a clear, highly visible banner notification and logs user consent locally in their browser cookie configuration.

Will the banner show up on every page load?

No. Once a visitor clicks the ‘Accept’ button, a cookie (`dipl_cookie_consent`) is saved in their browser. It checks this cookie server-side and skips displaying the banner again during its active lifetime.

Can I add links inside the descriptive message?

Yes. You can use standard HTML link tags (<a href="..."></a>) inside the message text field to link to custom privacy guidelines or cookie lists.
