Fixing Image Rotation Issue in DP Masonry Gallery Module

Overview

Some users have reported an issue where images added to the Masonry Gallery module appear rotated incorrectly on the frontend, even though they display correctly in the editor, media library, and lightbox.

This document explains the cause of this behavior and provides steps to resolve it.

Cause

The issue is typically caused by image optimization plugins that alter or remove EXIF orientation data during the optimization process.

In a recent case, it was found that the Imagify plugin was responsible for the image rotation issue. After disabling the plugin, the images loaded correctly on the frontend.

Solution

To fix this issue:

  1. Deactivate the Imagify plugin (or any image optimization plugin you’re using).
  2. Clear your website cache (including any server or plugin cache).
  3. Refresh the page to check if the images now display in the correct orientation.
