How a user can utilize a child theme without performing a complete demo import?
When using a child theme that comes with complete content, users may not always require a full demo import on their site. In such cases, users can follow these steps:
1. Install and Activate the Child Theme: Start by installing the child theme’s zip file and activate the theme. This action will activate the necessary style.css
and functions.php
files, ensuring the basic functionality of the child theme.
2. Perform Demo Import on Staging Site: If the user doesn’t want to perform a complete demo import on the main site, they can set up a staging site where they can install and activate the child theme. Then, proceed to perform the demo import on the staging site.
3. Export Data from Staging Site: Once the demo import is completed and the staging site is set up according to the user’s preferences, they can export the necessary data from the staging site.
4. Import Data to Main Site: After exporting the data from the staging site, the user can now import it into their main site.
By following these steps, users can effectively utilize a child theme without the requirement of performing a complete demo import on their main site.
